The many faces of Scotland
Doune is a tiny city, full of history, with its 2 main attractions, the medieval castle and the Mercat Cross, a clear indication of the importance it had in previous times for this people in terms of commercial transactions in Scotland. The village lies along the river despite being found in Perthshire, is much closer to Stirling (about 10 km) to Perth (35 km approx.). It is a quiet place and different from the purely tourist areas. So in the castle visit, a tour of this comfortable corner, we see another unknown area of Scotland´s many.
