Donkey Sactuary of Canada

1 review of Donkey Sactuary of Canada

A Rewarding Experience

Since 1992, the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada has been a charitable organization and sanctuary for rescued, abused, and neglected donkeys in Guelph, Ontario. The farm is located in a rural area outside of the main city. The Donkey Sanctuary is open to the public from the Spring to the Fall on Sundays and Wednesdays. There are nearly 100 donkeys living at the sanctuary and they rely fully on donations to take care of them. A suggested donation open arrival is $5, which completely goes back to helping the animals. It was fantastic to interact with the donkeys that lived there, and we were able to pet and brush them.

This is a great activity for children and families. The donkeys are able to walk around as they please, whether they feel like staying in the barn or coming out to visit the guests. There are guided tours of the farm where a volunteer teaches the visitors more about these lovable creatures. It was remarkable to witness the donkeys living so happily and peacefully at the farm.
