Dondesánchez is a small gourmet shop and bar located inside the Mercado de Antón Martin, one of Madrid’s oldest and most traditional neighborhood food markets which is currently undergoing a transformation as street food vendors and pop-up restaurants begin to fill up the once-vacant market stalls.
The gourmet shop portion of Dondesánchez stocks a wide variety of cheeses, artisan marmalades and spreads, pates, canned goods, olive oils, wines, and chocolates, most of which you can pick right off the shelf and ask the extremely welcoming and friendly owner to plate up for you to enjoy at bar. They also have a good selection of natural (unprocessed) beers and vermouths produced locally in Spain and a great selection of wines, especially white wines.
