The House of Augustus
The House of Augustus is the best preserved villa in the Palatine in Rome. Its four restored rooms allow us to go back in time and imagine how this house was originally. The reclaimed area corresponds to the east wing of the large Roman villa, part of which was built before the proclamation of Octavian as Augustus by the Senate of Rome in the year 27, making him the first emperor. The room on the top floor is the estudiolo (small office) of the Emperor. The rooms have marble floors.
