Legends full of mystery

They are in the Alcobaça Monastery (Alcobaça, Portugal) Inside the church of St. Mary dating from the thirteenth century and has a Latin cross. A large ship and purity unmatched lines. In the transepts are located the tombs of King Peter and Queen Ines de Castro. A flamboyant Gothic gems. The history of these kings is tragic and beautiful at the same time. And I was impressed as I met her. I tell it: Dom Pedro fell in love with the maid of honor of his wife Constance of Castile. Dom Pedro's father, King Alfonso IV, exiled Ines and do not approve of the relationship. When dying Constance lovers secretly married and had several children.

King Alfonso IV in the absence of Dom Pedro allowed Ines murdered. Enraged upon hearing of the tragedy Dom Pedro unleashed a civil war against his father and had to negotiate peace with him. Soon after the king died and Dom Pedro began his revenge against the murderers of his beloved after torturing cruelly killing. A Ines constructed a tomb (the Alcobaça Monastery-Church of Santa Maria) and did exhume his body that was in the Monastery of Santa Clara a Velha Coimbra-Portugal . Dressed in royal finery, they placed the royal crown and sat on the throne. Peter and King, forced the court of to kiss the hand to the "queen". No doubt his love was deep. They say that when King Dom Pedro died commanded the two mounds placed in the church so as to reach the Final Judgment and awakening, 2 lovers return to rediscover. The history and legends intertwine and make the places we visit are full of mystery and magic.
