Glengoyne Distillery

Near Drymen, not too far from Loch Lomond, you'll find the Glengoyne distillery, one of the most famous distilleries which has won many prizes for its visits. There are several tours on offer, varying in price, but one of the most sought after is the one where, after an explanation of how whiskies are blended, you can try your hand at making your own whisky, to be tested by the distillery's official taster. If you're lucky, it could be selected and promoted, but in any case, you'll leave with a sample of your creation. They have a pretty big selection of high-quality whiskies, stronger than those of Speyside and softer than those of the islands.
