Carpet Demonstrations and Store

2 reviews of Carpet Demonstrations and Store

A real show

In any carpet shop you go into there will be a live demonstration of how the carpets are made by hand with antique looms in rather precarious conditions. I had occasion to see this twice in two different stores. The images I'm uploading are from the most luxurious shop in a mall. The funny thing is inside the store. I sit in quite a spacious room and offer you something to drink. Once all are served, the show begins, because it really it is a show. Carpets unfold quite theatrically with a bang on the floor and unwinding at once, ha ha. They are deployed in groups of two or three people at a time.

When you realize you have the floor at your feet full of rugs in different qualities and all very nice. The feeling is quite overwhelming, especially if you have no intention of buying anything. If you want to buy one, they will wrap it well so you can check it in as hold luggage or you can have it sent to your home, whichever you prefer.

Although the visit to any factory or craft store on these trips usually "smell you trap" once there and especially before entering the commercial game, you end alegrándote have gone, and the ability to do work, particular skill and patience of the craftsmen, makes the visit worthwhile. On the outskirts of Jaipur, you will find this workshop, where they make the famous Indian handmade carpets, all completely made by hand, and you can order in any design or material you want and they send you home with guarantee certificate and origin is included. In the courtyard of the old building, craftsmen each have a work, yarn, warp, weave the fabric and knot to knot .. And the most amazing thing in my opinion ... The remaining wire removed, which made with a torch and a master worthy of the best welder driving it. Yarns dyes are all natural, and is madejado centuries ago, by hand with an old rueca.Después of the visit, make you climb to the first floor .. And there begins the "function" .. Mountains carpets of all styles are displayed at your feet as you start haggling .... That's when you start to miss the bustle of the streets .. And especially do not have a Visa size "King size" .. To take them all home.
