Interesting Hungarian city
Debrecen is the most eastern Hungarian city, and the second largest population-wise. In the mis 19th century, it was the capital of Hungary, rebelling against the Hungarian troops of the Hapsburg monarchy. They were defeated and the Austro-Hungarian empire continued. Unlike the rest of the country which is Catholic, it is a Protestant city of Calvinist influence. Maybe for this reason we saw a group of musicians and a singer who, we were told, were preaching Christianity.... The Protestant Church of Santa Ana is in the city centre, in front of a fountain whose tiles are reminiscent of the Tartar invasion (suffered by the city in the thirteenth century).
