La ville de Seclin possède un autre monument que celui situé dans le cimetière. Ce monument-là, moins sobre, a été édifié devant la collégiale Saint-Piat, à la vue de tous, puisqu'il s'agit d'un lieu très fréquenté. Il est constitué d'une colonne au pied de laquelle un soldat, un poilu plus précisément, se met en marche, en hélant, semble-t-il, ses camarades. Veillant sur lui, au sommet de la colonne, se dresse un coq, symbole de la nation française, qui guide les soldats vers.... eh bien la liberté.

It consists of a column at the foot of which a soldier, hairy specifically, starts, hailing, it seems, his comrades.
