Australia's first international airport
Near Daly Waters we can find the remains of what was the first international airport in Australia, established in 1920, by the need to refuel and supply the aircraft undertaking the Brisbane-Singapore route. During the Second World War, it served to support the aircraft of the RAAF (Royal Australian Air Force), but now it is only used by small craft. In the hangar next to the runway and terminal remains, you can see photos and information from its golden age.
