A crowded place
The Renzo tavern, located in the central Contra Frasche, is acknowledged by many loyal customers as the best place for an aperitif in Vicenza. A few dozen metres from the main Piazza dei Signori, this is the kind of place that can easily escape a tourist's notice. It's really small and always crowded, so it's difficult to find a seat at one of the four or five tables. The lights are soft and low, there are warm wood details, and the only white wall was decorated with photos of famous actors in black and white.
The system that this historic restaurant has adopted is simple: each slice of bread costs one euro (as well as most of the drinks, served in mini glasses), and are served in a tray, after choosing from those in the display case.
