Culture House

The House of Culture of Alhaurin El Grande is in the center of town and is located in one of the most famous buildings. It is a beautiful nineteenth century building that was once the priest's house, Domingo Maria de San Roman, one of the most notorious characters of the time for his involvement in society. It also houses a tourist office, Foreigners Department, Information Centre for Women and the offices of the Department of Housing, Equality and Tourism.

+2

I have live in Alhaurin el Grande for 13 years

And still know nothing about it! The area lacks tourism because there are limited buses up from the coast to the village and the buses don't operate on a Sunday when most people and families have the time to take in the sights.

I believe there are 4 buses a day to and from the coast at ridiculous times, last bus to fuengirola is 18.30 and then you need €50 to 60 euros to get a taxi back. If you have to travel to work by bus, forget it you either have to work in AEG or not at all.

It's such a shame really because Alhaurín el Grande is such a beautiful village and could offer so much more, but unfortunately there is no one here to promote it in the way it should be promoted. Their foreign office doesn't exist, or does it! Unfortunately Alhaurín el Grande stood still 30 years ago and has never moved forward.
