1 review of Cruces de Mayo

Quite Fun

May Crosses are a custom in my region. They're also made in other parts of Spain, but they're different here. On May 3rd, the crosses of each neighbourhood are decorated with works of art for a day. The story goes back centuries. The crosses are adorned with the most colourful jewels and motifs. There's a resentment among neighbourhoods seen year after year. I'm not a historian, so if you want more information on the festivities you can search in Google (I'm not very fond of copying and pasting things into my reviews unless it's necessary). Here are some photos of the crosses from 2008. As a party, it's impressive.

It has the usual loop through the night to see the mounted crosses in the verbenas and it's quite fun. If you are on another island, it would be worth it to come over, but not from the peninsula like it is for Carnival. Here are some pictures!
