Biking the Golden Gate Bridge

Ok, this is a very touristy experience, but ve says that touristy is always bad? Of course, if you have the opportunity to go during the week, you'll find it much less crowded. You can rent bikes at Pier 39 in San Francisco, then follow the bay to the climb that leads you to the bridge. The steep rise isn't easy if you're not in good physical condition, but the adrenaline of being on the Golden Gate Bridge without being in a car, together with it's stunning views, will push you onwards! If you look to the right you'll see San Francisco but if you look to the left there's nothing but the vastness of the Pacific.
