Cripta de Fernand Léger

A los pies del monumental memorial de Mardasson, el artista Fernand Léger realizo tres mosaicos en honor de la mujer como verdadera heroína de las guerras. Los tres mosaicos forman parte del memorial realizado por el pueblo belga como agradecimiento a los aliados, sobre todo a EEUU por la defensa numantina frente a las tropas nazis y posterior liberación a manos del General Paton. Los mosaicos representan los tres grandes cultos religiosos que se procesan en EEUU: católico, protestante y judío. Las imágenes son solo femeninas. Los dibujos nos recordó a nuestro admirado Guernica de Picasso.

At the foot of the monumental Mardasson memorial, the artist Fernand Lger made three mosaics in honor of women as true heroine of war. The three mosaics are part of the memorial by the Belgian people in gratitude to the allies, especially the United States for the numantina defense against the Nazis and subsequent liberation troops at the hands of General Paton. The mosaics represent the three major religious cults that are processed in US: catlico, Protestant and judo. The images are only female. The drawings we record our admired Picasso's Guernica.
