María Carmen García Moraleda
A storied night club
This night club, on 125th Street in Harlem, used to open during the Prohibition of the 1920's, when African Americans were refused entry. It was opened by a smuggler and gangster while in prison, and still bears his name. The original Cotton Club was demolished to make way for a hotel, and the new one was opened in 1989.
