Subiendo al curso alto del río Nansa, nos encontramos con este bello pueblo, con hermosas casonas, blasones. De él parte la carretera que lleva a San Sebastián de Garabandal ( Famoso por las apariciones Marianas)

A menos de 3 kilómetros de Puentenansa se encuentra la localidad de Cosío, donde residen algo más de 170 habitantes. Se trata de uno de los pueblos más emblemáticos y mejor preservados del municipio, con un rico patrimonio arquitectónico y natural en el que destacan varias casas construidas entre los siglos XVII y XVIII: CASA LA TORRE.- Ubicada en el centro del pueblo y de época barroca, esta construcción tiene unas proporciones peculiares, especialmente la altura del segundo piso. En él alberga un monumental escudo con las armas de Cosío, timbrado por yelmo con dos leones tenantes, y otros motivos. La casa ha sido ampliada y cuenta con un túnel por debajo para permitir el tránsito por la calle. LA CASONA.- Situada a pie de la carretera, frente a ‘La Torre’, es una construcción barroca a la que se accede a través de una portalada presidida por un escudo timbrado con dos leones tenantes y varias sirenas talladas. Porta las armas de Rubín de Celis, Cosío y Bedoya. El elemento más característico de la casa es la capilla que tiene adosada en el extremo, fundada por Francisco Rubin de Celis a principios del siglo XVIII. CASONA LA PANDA.- Se encuentra en la entrada del pueblo. Tiene dos pisos con profundos muros cortafuegos y un balcón de madera, tallado, al centro. Presenta varios escudos y piezas talladas a lo largo de su fachada. CASA LA LLOSA.- Subiendo a la plaza del Tarreru, en la parte superior, se encuentra esta casa, edificada por el montañés Moisés de Cosío. Los escudos que luce, portan las armas de Cosío y los leones tenantes. En esta plaza se asienta la fuente ‘El Tarreru’, que por la noche tiene una bonita iluminación. Por esta riqueza cultural y los esfuerzos realizados en su conservación y mejora, en 2016 Cosío fue galardonado con el premio Pueblo de Cantabria, siendo calificado como una auténtica “joya” por el presidente de la comunidad autónoma, Miguel Ángel Revilla. ESPECTÁCULO VISUAL DEL VENDUL A su paso por Cosío, el Vendul dibuja un precioso paisaje que puede observarse desde los distintos puentes que hay en la localidad. Entre ellos, señalar el que sube camino a la iglesia, datado en la primera mitad del siglo XVIII, de un solo ojo y perfil alomado. La iglesia a la que conduce presenta tres naves, cabecera recta y españada de dos troneras. En el interior, la capilla mayor está cubierta con bóveda de crucería estrellada, mientras que las naves lo hacen con armadura de madera. Conserva una inscripción de la familia Cosío, un fragmento de retablo del siglo XVII con la Virgen del Carmen y algunas imágenes de interés. Especialmente interesante es dedicar unos minutos, al llegar al pueblo, a la plaza de Moisés Cosío, donde se ha instalado una zona recreativa para los más pequeños y hay diversos elementos conmemorativos. Anexa a esta plaza se encuentra la bolera de la localidad, que acoge destacados torneos, entre ellos, el que se celebra por San Miguel, la fiesta más importante del municipio. Explorando un poco este espacio, es posible obtener una de esas fantásticas vistas del Vendul. Y ya camino hacia San Sebastián de Garabandal, este afluente del Nansa ofrece un rincón espectacular, el pozo verde, donde es posible bañarse mientras se disfruta de semejante regalo de la naturaleza.

Less than 3 kilometers from Puentenansa is the town of Cosío, home to just over 170 inhabitants. It is one of the most emblematic and best preserved towns in the municipality, with a rich architectural and natural heritage in which several houses built between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries stand out: CASA LA TORRE.- Located in the center of the town and in the period Baroque, this construction has peculiar proportions, especially the height of the second floor. In him lodges a monumental shield with the arms of Cosío, stamped by helmet with two lions tenantes, and other reasons. The house has been enlarged and has a tunnel below to allow transit through the street. LA CASONA.- Located at the foot of the road, in front of "La Torre", it is a baroque construction accessed through a doorway presided over by a shield stamped with two tenant lions and several carved sirens. It carries the arms of Rubín de Celis, Cosío and Bedoya. The most characteristic element of the house is the chapel attached to the end, founded by Francisco Rubin de Celis at the beginning of the 18th century. CASONA LA PANDA.- It is located at the entrance of the town. It has two floors with deep fire walls and a wooden balcony, carved, in the center. It presents several shields and pieces carved along its facade. CASA LA LLOSA.- Going up to the Tarreru square, in the upper part, you will find this house, built by the mountaineer Moisés de Cosío. The shields that it shines, carry the arms of Cosío and the lions tenantes. In this square sits the fountain "El Tarreru", which at night has a beautiful lighting. For this cultural wealth and the efforts made in its conservation and improvement, in 2016 Cosío was awarded the People of Cantabria prize, being described as an authentic "jewel" by the president of the autonomous community, Miguel Angel Revilla. VISUAL SHOW OF THE VENDUL On its way through Cosío, the Vendul draws a beautiful landscape that can be seen from the different bridges that exist in the town. Among them, to point out the one that climbs the way to the church, dated in the first half of the 18th century, with only one eye and an alomado profile. The church to which it leads presents three naves, straight and españada head of two embrasures. Inside, the main chapel is covered with a starry ribbed vault, while the naves do it with wooden armor. It conserves an inscription of the family Cosío, a fragment of altarpiece of the XVIIth century with the Virgin of the Carmen and some images of interest. Especially interesting is to spend a few minutes, when you get to the town, to the Plaza de Moisés Cosío, where a recreational area has been set up for the little ones and there are various commemorative elements. Attached to this square is the bowling of the town, which hosts major tournaments, including the one held by San Miguel, the most important party in the municipality. Exploring this space a little, it is possible to obtain one of those fantastic views of the Vendul. And on the way to San Sebastián de Garabandal, this affluent of the Nansa offers a spectacular corner, the green well, where it is possible to bathe while enjoying such a gift of nature.
