Corbridge

Corbridge is a lovely little village on the banks of the famous River Tyne in Northern England. Its origin dates back to 85 AD with a local Roman settlement, with a strong fort and then with a fortified city. The fortification should not be underestimated as this village was one of the military and civilian enclaves of major importance to Hadrian's Wall. The Roman town can be visited and is one of the main attractions, it's quite large and the remains are important, however it is working hard on excavations. Other important buildings in this village are the Church of San Andrés (VII century) and the access bridge to the village on the River Tyne, of Roman origin with medieval reconstructions and some more in modern times.
