A remaining convent
This convent is located in the upper area of Badajoz, in the historical center, just opposite the Alcazaba and Casas Mudejares. It was built in the early twentieth century on the remains of a thirteenth-century chapel dedicated to St. Joseph (patron of the city), and inside you can see graves of famous people. The current building has a single nave, and is inhabited by nuns from the "Madres Adoratrices Esclavas del Santismo y de la Caridad" order. It is one of the four monasteries or convents remaining in Badajoz, of the sixteen that the city once had.
