Convent of Carme

The Convent del Carme, a Gothic building, now houses the Museo del Castell. Its highlights are the cloister and the church, which preserves an exceptional polychrome wood paneling. The visit costs 5 € and is guided. The library is one of the most important cultural elements of the castle. Currently there are over 80,000 volumes, including unique or very rare specimens, manuscripts and the famous Cervantes collection with over 1000 editions of Don Quixote. In the cloister, medieval lineages are preserved including Rocabertí, Avinyó, Barutell, Darnius, Llimós Ortall, Rocabertí, Sagarriga and Sarroca

Among others.
