Convent of A Madalena

Situada en la bonita localidad de Sarria, en la provincia de Lugo, podrá encontrar a el antiquísimo convento de A Madalena. Su construcción data de principios del siglo XII con el fin de operar como Hospital de Peregrinos. Durante el paso de los siglos recibió algunas modificaciones, siendo mas notables las efectuadas entre los siglos XV y XVIII que le confirieron una fusión de estilos arquitectónicos desde su origen Románico como Gótico, Renacentistas e incluso Manuelinos traídos directamente de Portugal

Situated in the pretty village of Sarria, in the province of Lugo, may find the ancient convent of A Madalena. Its construction dates from the early twelfth century in order to operate as a hospital for pilgrims.
