Conservatory

Le conservatoire de Cambrai se situe place Jean Moulin, face à cette statue dont j'ai déjà parlé la "Gloria Victis". Il s'agit d'un monument historique, non au titre de conservatoire mais parce qu'il s'y était établi l'ancien hôpital Saint Julien. Son origine remonte au XVIIIème siècle avec une construction en 1714. L'édifice fut néanmoins incendié durant la première guerre mondiale en 1918 et la façade centrale, qui semble en effet plus neuve, est l'oeuvre de l'architecte de la reconstruction : Pierre Leprince-Ringuet. Le bâtiment est en tout cas un petit bijou d'harmonie et de sobriété.

The conservatory is Cambrai Place Jean Moulin, facing the statue which I have already mentioned the "Gloria Victis". It is a historical monument, not under conservatory but because it was there established the old hospital Saint Julien. Its origin dates back to the eighteenth century with construction in 1714. The building was still on fire during the First World War in 1918 and the central front, which seems newer effect, is the work of the architect of the reconstruction: Pierre Leprince-Ringuet. The building is certainly a gem of harmony and sobriety.
