An absolute must when visiting another country is to taste the food however humble it may be ... in Africa, often local dishes are quite humble, do not expect sophisticated stews or indeed varied menus. There simply isn´t any, this may mean you don´t eat one day but that´s the way it is. In Cameroon there is no single traditional dish much like in Spain. The dishes vary according to the area. In the Far North, you have what they call couscous, which is corn pasta seasoned with various different sauces(peanuts, tamarind, etc..). In the south, the Endolé, a dish made with a kind of spinach and peanut sauce (very tasty and calorie-filled!).
