Fountains that healed the body
The charming village of Thermal Karlovy Vary is about 100km from Prague and became popular in the 19th century between the "nobility" and Russian high society for its spa and as a city of leisure and rest. Constructed between the years 1883 and 1884, the Market Colonnade (Tržní kolonáda) is made of wood, painted white. It was made in a Swiss style and was designed by Ferdinand Fellner and Hermann Helmer at the location of the old Town Hall, demolished in the year 1879. Inside there are 2 fountains of the many that exist. It has thermal water with a temperature of 41 degrees or higher, is made up of many different minerals depending on the fountain, and each fountain used to treat a given disease, such as diseases of the kidney, stomach, etc..
