Nuestro primer coliseo, el famoso Teatro Colón de esta capital, después de un largo período de restauración, fue nuevamente abierto para algarabía de sus muchísimos concurrentes y para orgullo de todos los argentinos. Su inauguración había sido el 25 de mayo de 1908, pero lamentablemente por problemas técnicos y de la envergadura del trabajo de remodelación emprendido, recién pudo reinaugurarse el 25 de Mayo del 2010. El proyecto incluyó una remodelación completa, para dejarlo dotado del más moderno equipamiento artístico y técnico. Nuestro primer coliseo puede albergar a 2500 espectadores sentados y a otros 500 que pueden ubicarse de pie. Su telón histórico pesa 700 kilogramos y había sido confeccionado en el año 1936. Su reparación demandó 5 meses de trabajo en los que 15 especialistas trabajaron con ahínco y toda dedicación y cuidados. Su sala, construída con "curva a la italiana", dota al mismo de una acústica maravillosa. Según los entendidos goza de la resonancia italiana y de la claridad francesa. Su cúpula, que mide 6 metros de diámetro y pesa 4000 kilos, ha sido totalmente restaurada por expertos, que han hecho que luzcan aun más los frescos pintados en el año 1966 por nuestro renombrado artista plástico: Raúl Soldi. Por suerte, se han reabierto las visitas guiadas, por lo que podrás admirar personalmente todos los detalles que nombro, más la belleza de su escalinata principal, el Salón de los Bustos, el famoso Salón Dorado con sus arañas fantásticas, etc. Estoy orgullosa de nuestro primer coliseo y quisiera que si visitas Buenos Aires lo conozcas y, más aun, que disfrutes de alguna obra que el mismo ofrezca...

Ubicado en el centro de la ciudad, a pocas cuadras del emblemático Obelisco y sobre la ancha Avenida 9 e Julio, el hermoso edificio fue modificado en varias ocasiones hasta llegar a la actual superficie de 58.000 m2. La última remodelación fue terminada en mayo del 2010, en ocasión del Bicentenario. Durante la visita, el guía nos señalaba detalles del antes y el después de la renovación. Me emocioné de sólo pensar que estaba en el teatro que, a lo largo de la historia, fue el escenario que pisaron los mejores artistas de la ópera y de la música clásica mundial. Desde un punto de vista arquitectónico, sorprende tanto por dentro como por fuera. La fachada sobre Cerrito es impresionante. Tuve la suerte de conocer las óperas de Viena y Praga, y les aseguro que nada tiene que envidiarles. Una vez que se inicia la visita, se accede al hall. La escalera que nos recibe es imponente. El despliegue de los pisos, los techos abovedados, los vitrales, las doraduras y las paredes de mármol en color suave de mármol de Siena y de Carrara, todo el conjunto es hermoso. Me fascinó ver la colección de los trajes que vistieron los personajes de la ópera más famosos. La visita guiada al Teatro Colón se desarrolla en la Sala Principal, el Salón Dorado, el Salón Blanco.
