It's the 3rd largest city in Germany on the surface and during World War II was bombed and reduced to 80 per cent. The Gothic style Cathedral and Heritage Site were also damaged (part of the windows), it's the shrine of the Magi, and people say that their remains were brought from Milan. It also has one of the oldest universities in Europe.
Cologne is a spectacular city where you can enjoy food, beer and even a handball game with the Final Four in May. More than highly recommended! By the way, the hotels near here are sometimes not what they seem in internet photos similar to in Italy or other places.
Three days in Cologne before Christmas. I just love the Dom! Ended up with taking its pictures, going in and climbing up to the top of it, and having food at the Christmas market at the foot of it!
