1 review of Clock Tower (Sahat Kula)

A watch full of history

Excellent

15 metres high, this bell and clock tower stands on Bajatova, the staircase street that leads from the centre of Mostar up the hills on the left bank of the River Neretva. It was built by Fatima Kaduna Saric befor 1636, and functioned until 1926. In the past it was used to mark the time for prayers, and it was severely damaged in the war of 1993 to 1995. It was renovated in 1999, and is now in fairly good condition, although the adjacent building remains a ruin, showing the scars left by the bombing.
