A family history museum
Cliveden Benjamin Chew built this summer home in 1760 to escape the disease and heat of Philadelphia. He was one of the first British residents of the small community of Germantown. Chew and his family were among the richest in colonial Philadelphia. Chew's wealth came from his British connections. Today the house has been converted into this museum and houses the this family history.
