Private stamp collection
Sigillo Civic Museum (La Spezia) opened in 2000 and is located on the first floor of the Arts Building. The collection on display is a private stamp collection of 1500 pieces. The period between the 18th and 19th centuries was the most important for the production of stamps. Among some which are displayed behind glass are those by René Lalique, Art Nouveau. In one room are the stamps produced in the East in the period between the 4th century BC.
