City Hall
The City Hall is the main government building of Limerick. This former industrial city developed very rapidly with the expansion of its port and factories in the region. This brought in many workers, not only from the fields of Ireland but also from the UK. Previously, the old city jail was located here until its demolition in 1988. Most of the facade on the east side was preserved and more modern sections were built to include the workers council. There is a walk along the Shannon River that allows you to see other parts of the city council if you look to the north. There is also a full tour within the building where you can see posters that depict various sights including the King's Island, the historic district and administrative center of Limerick.
