Church of St André
Classified as a historic monument, this fortified church (XII-XIII century), is dedicated to Saint Andrew and also served to protect the city. Its exterior is Romanesque, but the interior is a mixture of Romanesque and Gothic. This small medieval town, part of the Camino de Santiago, is situatedated on the border with the Basque Country, and walking through it is a blast. In summer there are guided tours. In the area I recommend a visit to St Jean Pied de Port (Donibane Garazi), one of the most charming towns in southern France. And the impressive Kakueta Gorge.
