The plague
Believe it or not, this hermitage owes its existence to a plague. During the twelfth century, Cartgena suffered a pestilence that left many dead, so it was decided to create this building, which consists of a hospital and a chapel dedicated to San Roque. This chapel, with its primitive colonial architecture, has the charm of the medieval period, and reminds me of that old saying - that it's what's on the inside that counts, because what's important here is not the facade but the history within.
