Elegant pedestrian street
This elegant pedestrian street leaves Place de la Comédie and the State Opera towards the river. The eighteenth-century facades are typical of the major restoration work done after a fire. The tram drops you off and there are more pedestrian shopping zones. In the Cours du Chapeau Rouge there are lots of restaurants (some with terraces), mainly seafood and regional cuisine. It's an expensive city and is one of France's gastronomic capitals.
