Chocolates Paria

Esta es una de mis visitas favoritas en la Península de Paria. Se trata de la fábrica de Chocolates Paria, que también es el hogar de Alida Quintero, una merideña que llegó hace más de 20 años a la zona y se enamoró del lugar y aprendió a conocer las virtudes y bondades del cacao. Había comprado una hacienda para otros menesteres y con la compra venía la siembra del delicioso fruto que que como producto da el dulce chocolate. Así que aprendió y se especializó, hizo experimentos, compró máquinas, se asesoró. El resultado, una de las mejores chocolateras de Venezuela, con un producto perlado, crujiente al morder y suave al digerir. Se esmera en que a gente se enamoré de la zona de Paria con su producto, así que los empaques muestran algo de esta bella península. La fábrica hace recorridos casi todos los días para que los turistas puedan ver el proceso de producción desde la siembra de la maraca.
