Chilches es una peequeña población de menos de 3000 habitantes, y que pertenece al municipio de Vélez-Málaga (Málaga), a 2 km de la carretera N-340. Y a 18 km de Málaga capital, conectado por autovia del mediterráneo. Chilches e encuentra dividida en dos zonas, la costera constituida por distintas urbanizaciones junto a la carretera N-340 y que en verano suele ser el destino vacacional de muchos malagueños que aprovechan la cercanía y sus playas ,y la interior que es la que constituye el pueblo originario. El nombre de la población, le viene por su torre vigía, que está al lado de la carretera N-340 y es del Siglo XVI. También cuenta con una Iglesia, la Iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepción construida en el siglo XVII, y sus fiestas son la Romeria de San Jose (19 Marzo) y las fiestas de la Purisima, que al celebrarse en el mes de Agosto es bastante concurrida
Chilches is a peequeña population of less than 3,000 inhabitants, and belongs to the municipality of Vélez-Málaga (Málaga), 2 km from the N-340 road. And 18 km from Malaga city, connected by highway of the Mediterranean. Chilches and is divided into two zones, the coastal constituted by various developments along the N-340 road and in summer is usually the holiday destination of many citizens who take advantage of the proximity and its beaches, and the interior is what constitutes the native people. The name of the population, it is by its watchtower, which is next to the N340 and is the sixteenth century. It also has a church, the Church of the Immaculate Conception built in the seventeenth century, and festivals are the pilgrimage of San Jose (March 19) and the celebrations of the Purisima, who celebrated in the month of August is pretty busy
