This was a former defensive enclosure. Today there are more than 20 preserved watchtowers which have been converted into restaurants or museums. It is the capital of the "Pays de la Mée" or "middle region". It was an expert border town for years. Thanks to this is has received unprecedented military heritage for years. It has a commercial vocation and ancient crossroads, which allows travellers to see first hand the history of trade in this region of France. The stylish and well preserved streets are the first places to visit - they are filled with multiple towers, like a castle, which give the city its name.
