Romanesque abbey
Charlemagne Tower, also known as the Octagonal Tower, is the only remnant that remains standing of the romanesque abbey that was built between the 8th and 11th centuries. The splendor of the Abbey lasted until the 'Hundred Years War' and turned into ruins during the Wars of Religion and its destruction was complete during the French Revolution.
