Una città in pietra
Incantevole cittadina, capoluogo della penisola del Mani, con gran parte del centro storico costituito da edifici in pietra, le famose case turrite e stretti vicoli caratteristici che si diramano dalla piazza Athanaton. Bellissima la chiesa principale del villaggio dove spicca la torre campanaria a quattro piani. In una tipica casa turrita è stato allestito il Museo Pikoulakis (ingresso € 2), con una pregevole collezione di arte bizantina.
Charming town, capital of the Mani peninsula, with much of the old town consists of stone buildings, the famous turreted houses and narrow alleys that branch off from the square Athanaton. The beautiful main church of the village where stands the bell tower with four floors. In a typical turreted was the Museo Pikoulakis (input 2), with a valuable collection of Byzantine art.
