Stunning apartment buildings
The street between Central Park and Columbus Circle contains some of the most recognizable buildings on the Upper West Side. A lot of Central Park West is listed as a historic district because of these architectural works. Built in different styles from the 19th century until the 1930's, there are cultural and religious centers here like the Natural History Museum or the Sephardic Synagogue built by Spanish and Portuguese in 1897. And there's the New York Historical Society, the oldest museum in the city dating back to 1804. But undoubtedly the stars of this avenue are the apartment buildings. The San Remo, the Majestic, Century and Eldorado are all stunning.
