Cave of the Jets

Many people only know the huge waterfall, that is the birth of the Rio Mundo, from the bottom. However, there is much more as the cave of the jets is where this spectacular river is truly born. However, getting to it isn't easy. First, you have to get permission to go with a licensed guide and then you have to walk up a hiking trail for an hour - it is so exhausting and amazing. Then you can go spelunking with one of the companies that offer this activity. I did and have a lasting memory of it. Jump into a cave of ice water (wearing a wetsuit), climb and even rappel into total darkness - it was an experience that my senses will never forget.
