Cathedral of San Lorenzo
The Cathedral of San Lorenzo is one of the most important buildings in the center of Trapan. This is a building that was constructed in 1421 and has since undergone various modifications and renovations over the course of the years. It has one floor that has three naves that you can only see from inside, and from the outside you can only see the beautiful facade. The dome is beautiful, but its gotten a little worse over time and its showing some loss of the color it previously had. The exterior stands out, as most of the rest of the buildings in this city do, because of the color of its stone, which is a light color that brings simplicity, elegance and brightness.
Its Baroque interior shows a great deal of beauty. Highlights are the paintings depicting major events in the history of the city. In addition, on the inside we can find very valuable paintings, among which is the Crucifixion by Van Dyck, and precious sculptures like the Dead Christ, which is the work of James Tartaglia.
