The Cathedral of Konstanz
The highlight of the Cathedral of Our Lady (Münster Unserer Lieben Frau) is the eleventh century crypt which houses gold discs of Constancia, 4 gold discs originally on the outer wall of the choir. The largest is called Christ Pantocrator and is from the year 1000, the other 3 go back to the early thirteenth century. Opposite there's the sarcophagus of San Pelayo, tenth century. The cathedral gardens house the Mauritiusrotunde, a replica of the tomb of Christ in Jerusalem dating from 940. The center is occupied by a Holy Sepulchre, which was a pilgrimage departure and arrival point in the Middle Ages.
Highlights are the access to the Cathedral via a double portal (late gothic style), the size of the 'Christ of Konstanz' and the impressive views of Lake Constance from the Cathedral 's tower.
