5 reviews of Pont des Catalans

Everything is essential

It was built in 1902 and its construction was copied from the New Bridge. They named it in honor of a Catalan delegation that came to the opening of the bridge in 1913. The architect in charge of the project, Paul Séjourné, obtained the design of the bridge from Adolfo of Luxembourg. This bridge was originally called Amidonniers Bridge, which is the name of the area that's connected to it. This is a bridge of a highway that also consists of a railcar pathway surrounded on both sides by a pavement and a bike path. It is one of the most important bridges in the old town of Garonne, next to St. Pierre, the Pont Saint Michel and Pont Neuf.
