El Castillo de Puebla de Sanabria es uno de los mejor conservados de la provincia de Zamora y ha sido recientemente restaurado y convertido su interior en Biblioteca y centro de actividades culturales. El Castillo se encuentra en el alto de un cerro que domina el valle del río Tera que atraviesa esta preciosa villa medieval y cuenta la historia que lo mandó construir D. Rodrigo Alonso Pimentel, cuarto conde de Benavente y miembro de la poderosa nobleza castellana. En el año 1931 fue declarado Monumento Nacional y pertenece a un grupo de fortalezas construidas en Galicia y Portugal que se caracterizan por tener una gran Torre en el interior del recinto amurallado. El recinto es de forma cuadrada, en el Patio destaca la torre de El Macho que presenta cuatro pisos construidos en granito. La Torre del Homenaje está situada en el interior del Patio de Armas perteneció a la familia Losada. Actualmente el Castillo es propiedad del Ayuntamiento y alberga la Biblioteca pública así como distintas actividades culturales.
