Ettlingen castle

Black Forest castles are elegant, graceful and seem like rather noble palaces. Ettlingen Castle is a beautiful and elegant building that currently houses exhibits from the history of the castle and the town, and the local art museum. It has baroque halls and a courtyard where the mix of Renaissance and Baroque styles enhance the pristine white facade. In some areas, illusions make us believe that we see windows and ornaments which are not really there. The most notable is the baroque "Dolphin" fountain in honor of the heir to the throne of France. It is located in a lively square that leads to the Rosengarten and a gallery where you can see the most interesting images of the city, including the castle itself.
