Waterfall in lush forest setting
The Cascade aux Ecrevisses (translated "crayfish waterfall") is part of Traver Road Guadalupe National Park, and gets its name as many crayfish lived here once. It is located in the centre Basse-Terre island, and is easily accessible from Petit Bourg. Once in the park you have to walk along a path about 15 minutes downstream from a lush forest of ferns (there's so much moisture and the cobblestone pavement is pretty slippy), following the course of the river Corossol. The waterfall is at the end of this path. It is one of the most visited natural sites of Guadalupe, the truth is that the setting is beautiful but the waterfall as such did not seem very spectacular, it's only 10 metres high.
