Casa Garcez

Em Portugal, nas cidades e vilas mais antigas existia sempre uma "Rua Direita". Normalmente ligava a Igreja à saída da vila ou cidade e era a rua mais importante da povoação. A família Garcez era uma família importante em Penafiel. Isso percebe-se pelo tamanho da casa e pelo brasão de armas. Este tem no centro uma garça rodeada por estrelas. Simbolicamente a garça significa dignidade e as estrelas harmonia. Esta casa está mais ou menos a meio da rua, do lado direito de quem desce. É única neste estilo, por esse motivo, fácil de encontrar.
