Beautiful building

I got to know the beautiful Fuster building more than 10 years ago, when the ground floor was used as an exhibition room dedicated to industrial design. After a few building reformations, it became a very elegant hotel in the more sophisticated area, above the one of Diagonal where Paseo de Gracia ends and Gran de Gracia street starts.

The imposing modernist building forms the pompous entrance to the Gracia neighborhood. The ground floor of the building has, apart from the reception lobby, a large room with high back chairs, giving a certain imposing sensation. Next to it you will find the bar-restaurant following the same line.

I really like the veils they put on the windows, a transparent bronze colored silk letting the light in and preserving intimacy inside.

Singular, striking

This singular and striking building, entrance and exit gate to the Barrio de Gràcia in Barcelona, was at the time a wedding present. The architect in charge of building it was Lluís Domènech i Montaner at the beginning of 1900. Throughout the years, the building has changed owners and the worst period was in 1960 when it was bought by the electricity Company Enher, who wanted to destroy it to build an office skyscraper.

Public opinion and famous people in the world of architecture fought to preserve it until they managed. It was bought in 2000 by the group Hoteles Center and the facade

As well as the internal structure were rehabilitated in order to turn it into a luxurious 5 stars hotel, which would later get the title of Monument Hotel.
