Carvoeiro Cape Lighthouse
The idea of building Cabo Carvoeiro Lighthouse was approved in 1758. The original tower, 21 meters high, came into use in 1790. It is near the town of Peniche, in an area of dramatic limestone cliffs. Around here you must be very careful because of the instability of the rocks and dangerous holes.
