Capitán Cook

One of the most popular places to eat seafood is the Captain Cook restaurant. Do not expect a very elegant place, (it is actually a "stall") or a very attentive service, but it doesn´t disappoint in regards to its seafood, fresh as if it had just been collected seconds before putting it on the table. The grill is very abundant and they have lobster (the specialty), crab, shrimp, squid, fish, all accompanied with chips, a spicy "mahi", desserts, drinks and a glass of mamahuana, compliments of the restaurant. It is best to reserve a table yourself, because if you do it from the Hotel or by some "intermediary" agency the price comes out to be more expensive.

Ordered Spider crab for 600 DOM. They decided to arbitrarily bring us three pounds. Never mentioned cost was per pound. Suprise bill for over $100 USD. Had a different server bring us the bill and pretend to know nothing. Service was terrible got one drink half way through the meal server never returned. They let random guys sit down at your table and hard sell you on excursions while you eat and can't get away from them. Avoid this place it looks nice but it is garbage.

What a horrible place we ate at. i could not believe the price of our food after tasting it. wow. super disappointing. I thought i could take my work team here and I felt stupid after tasting the food and seeing the bill after everything. i will not come back.
